Human body is full of ingredients and each of these plays an important in the building and maintaining of the body. The bodily functions are all regulated by these ingredients together. An imbalance in the quantity of these ingredients create an overall problem. Different ingredient takes part in different completing different functions. Vitamins are one of such ingredients which are necessary for a healthy body. Different vitamins protect and maintain different part and functions of the body to help it fight off diseases and grow in a healthy way. These vitamins come in two different types. Classification of vitamins make the ingredients divided into two different sects. The first one is fat-soluble and the second one water-soluble.

Fat-soluble vitamins

Vitamins A, D E, and K are soluble in fats. It allows these vitamins to be carried to the different parts of the body. These vitamins having a waxy and greasy texture can be ingested with food or absorbed through skin. Fat soluble vitamins protect our body from quite a few things. Vit A deficiency leads to night blindness and osteomalacia is caused by Vit D and calcium. Vit K1 and K2 are capable of treating coagulation problems. The deficiency of Vit E causes a weak immune system and muscle and nerve damage. Vit K1 comes from leafy green vegetables while K2 is created within the human intestinal tract. Vit K2 performs in a similar way as K1.

Water-soluble vitamins

Water soluble vitamins are nine in number. These are Vit B1, Vit B2, Vit B3, Vit B5, Vit B6, Vit B7, Vit B9, Vit B12, and Vitamin C. These vitamins get broken down easily and are never stored in the body. These vitamins go out of the body with feces and urine. These vitamins also help in fighting different diseases by increasing the number of healthy red blood cells and immunoglobulin G.
